2009 Driving Season is just about Over (It snowed in Central Indiana Today and that about ends the Ferrari Driving Season Officially)
It seems hard to believe but the 09 driving season is officially over with snow coming down and sticking on the roads. Salt will surely follow the snow and I know many of you do not take your cars back out until the snow and salt are washed away by spring showers. I put my car in to a Car Capsule this last week and I recommend for anyone that is storing their car to try a Car Capsule. It not only keeps it clean and dry but protects it in many ways that we just don't think about. With the car inside a car Capsule with the fan running 24/7, the air does not become stale or allow the humidity to destroy fragile parts on your car. It also puts a protective vinyl bubble around your car so that things bump into the bubble and not your bodywork. Most important, with a sealed Car Capsule you keep out bugs, and varmits like mice that love to climb up into you engine bay and eat wires and generally create havoc with your electrical system. Anyway, there may be a time or two coming up where I can get the car out of the bubble and take it out, but it doesn't look good thru Christmas and we all know what follows after Christmas. In summary................
This was a good season with several fun events and the National Meet at Road America thrown in. Speaking of Road America, I believe there is going to be a Ferrari Day at Road America in the spring of 2010 so keep an eye out.
We ended our season with a drive to the new Pete Dye Course on top of Mount Arie in Frenchlick Indiana. I don't believe that I am exagerating when I say that it is one of the most spectacular sites to have an event in the state of Indiana. Eveyone had a great time and the staff at Frenchlick did a wonderful job to make us all feel welcome. The food was outstanding and the views were breathtaking. I have some great photos from the event but I will have to figure out how to get them up on the site. Suffice to say you missed a good one if you did not attend.
I will look into having some kind of holiday gathering around Christmas but the weather would have to cooperate for us to actually have Ferraris show up, so we will see. I will talk to a couple members and see what they want to do, but in the mean time if you have a suggestion, just email me and I will try to make it happen.
Thanks to everyone that participated in our events this year and we look forward to seeing you all in 2010 when it gets a bit warmer and more hospitable.
